From J28, stay LEFT onto A38 West Bound
Take the 3 rd exit from the motorway, Signposted [Chesterfield
A61, Matlock A615, Alfreton.
Keep RIGHT and follow the junction round – take the 4 th exit into alfreton.
Stay to the LEFT here and follow the taper round to the
LEFT, through a pair of traffic signals.
The road bends sharply to the left, and then bends round
to the right – stay on here.
Keep following this road until you reach a T junction
with traffic lights. Oakerthorp will be signposted going
left – you need to turn RIGHT at these lights.
Follow road a short distance past a pub on the left, then
bear LEFT at the next turning straight after it.
Follow the road down the hill, under a railway bridge,
curving round to the right, then left. Stay on this road,
the A615. You will pass through Wessington.
Eventually, this road will arrive at Tansley, then a couple of miles after
that, Matlock. Look for a Total garage on the left as you approach Matlock
Green.
Just before the offices, and immediately after the garage
is a crossroads, signposted right to Chesterfield , left
to Starkholmes. Available parking will be to turn RIGHT
here towards Chesterfield and find a place on the left
side of the road a little way up the hill. This jouney
should take around 15-20 minutes.
