Wisbech Project

Rogers Structural Investigations Ltd was commissioned by Jackson Civil Engineering to carry out a structural condition assessment of the River Nene flood defences in the town of Wisbech , on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border.

The requirement of the contract was to complete a programme of in-situ non-destructive testing, full delamination survey and sampling with subsequent laboratory analysis of the samples.

Details of the siteworks, sampling, laboratory analysis, and testing were presented in a full report.

The investigation consisted of in-situ testing of the concrete (Half Cell Potential, Cover, Cement Content, Schmidt Hammer Testing and Chloride Determinations).
A full surface delamination survey of the concrete piles and small concrete breakouts to expose steel was also completed in order to ascertain the condition of the
piles at those locations. Reinforcement bar spacing
were also obtained using the covermeter across
each test location.
