Structural Rehabilitation

A variety of techniques are used to repair concrete, brick and masonry structures.

Following inspection and testing to determine the extent of repairs needed, the defective material is removed and preparation is made for remedial works.

Remedial works can be traditional or electrochemical.

  • Mechanically removing concrete around reinforcement
  • Profile of repair is cut
  • Grit blasting of reinforcement
  • Priming of the steel
  • Application of relevant repair mortars, self bonding and surface shrinkage compensated
  • Protective surface coating

Sprayed concrete has proved particularly suitable for the strengthening of arches, bridges and tunnels. Pressure grouting is an essential technique to fill cracks and voids with a fluid cementitious material.

  • Diamond drilling/sawing
  • Protective surface coatings
  • Concrete repairs
  • High pressure cleaning
  • Resin injection
  • Repainting
  • Hydrodemolition
  • Grit blasting
  • Structural monitoring
  • Cathodic protection design
  • Chemical attack
  • Anti corrosion coatings
  • Fire damage
  • Component replacement
